# Agent skill (/sdk-and-cli/agent-skill)

Install the OpenMetal skill with the Skills CLI:

```bash
npx skills add superagent-ai/openmetal --skill openmetal
```

The skill works with Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and other clients that support the Agent Skills specification.

The skill is optional. Applications integrating directly through the SDK or CLI do not need to
install it.

## What the skill teaches [#what-the-skill-teaches]

* Choose the CLI or TypeScript SDK for the task.
* Configure project access without exposing credentials.
* Create and clean up sandboxes safely.
* Wait for asynchronous lifecycle and runtime operations.
* Run argv based processes and resume ordered output.
* Transfer binary files without corrupting bytes.
* Create and revoke leased HTTP endpoints.
* Respect current provider capability and enforcement limits.
* Interpret retryable, uncertain, and terminal failures.

## Why use it [#why-use-it]

The public surface is deliberately precise. For example, the SDK uses `processes`, `filesystem`, `runtimeOperations`, and `endpoints`. It does not expose invented helpers such as `sandbox.exec()`, `sandbox.files`, or `sandbox.ports`.

The skill gives an agent those boundaries before it writes integration code.
